The enhanced processing of shot peening machine is one of the methods to improve the fatigue strength of parts. When the numerical control shot peening machine is used to strengthen shot peening on the surface of engine blades and blade roots, workers only carry out the operation of loading and unloading parts, and the rest is completely completed automatically by the machine. In the automatic working state, the working turntable, spray gun, shot peening flow, hoist, vibrating screen, spiral separator and shot peening time are all automatically controlled.

Its working principle is that the mechanical arm guides the nozzle to clear the blind area and dead angle at the hidden and complicated corner of the workpiece, and the constantly swinging nozzle further speeds up the cleaning process. The robot can either manually control the strengthening of individual workpieces or completely automatically strengthen series of workpieces. The robot can use pellets of any size and shape according to different workpiece surface requirements. The robot programming is carried out by the operator controlling the joystick, and the sandblasting cleaning of similar workpieces can be automatically completed by the programmed program.

Shot peening is based on compressed air as the power, the selection of fine spherical cast steel shot from the spray gun mouth, the formation of tens of meters per second of high-speed shot flow, the impact of gear tooth surface to complete the strengthening treatment, so that it produces a thin layer of high residual stress. When an external load is applied to the peened gear, the surface compressive stress after the peening is reduced due to the cancellation of the tensile stress caused by the load. If the load on the part does not exceed 40% ~ 50% of the ultimate tensile strength of the material, or below the elastic limit or yield point, the compressive stress after shot peening will still remain in the part. According to the crack propagation theory, the crack will not extend to the compressive stress layer. Therefore, the fatigue life of the parts can be improved by shot peening, the internal stress generated by machining tool marks can be eliminated, and the lubrication performance can be improved.

The effect of shot peening depends on two basic factors:(1) the condition of energy conduction of the processed material and the amount of energy absorbed by the material;(2) the shot peening processing should be based on the law of elastic-plastic deformation of different materials, and the shot peening processing mechanism should be obtained. According to this mechanism, the algorithm is formulated. By controlling the curvature of the variable stiffness plate, the residual stress is distributed along the section of the part, and the optimal solution is solved according to the law of surface deformation.

In the shot peening process, a reasonable shot peening process or sand blasting process can be determined by a reliable algorithm, which can make the processing effect more perfect.
